Sony Cybershot S700 camera info
Sony Cyber-shots are probably the most well-known Digital Compact Cameras in the world.
Sony Cybershot S700 is an entry-level digital compact camera. It sport 7.2 Mega Pixels resolutions. It is a high stamina digital compact. This is because it has long battery life. When fully charged, the battery can handle up to 460 shots. This is a very impressive figure.
This camera, like most Sony cameras, uses the Memory Stick Duo media. Generally, I find this to be a disadvantage as I think this format is not as common as other types of memory storage. I will much prefer a SD card as it is more common. Additionally, the camera contains 24MB of internal memory.
The camera features what is known as High sensitivity mode. This mode is useful for shooting under dim light conditions. Its ISO value can go up to a very useful ISO1000. Basically this mode helps to reduce the chances of taking blurry photos.

This entry-level camera comes with 3X optical zoom. What I really like about the camera is the good number of scene selection modes. Many compact camera sports only 3 scene modes, namely Macro, Portrait and Landscape. Cybershot S700, on the other hand have 6 modes:
- Twilight -for taking night shots
- Candle - for dim high contrast
- Landscape- as the name implies
- Twilight Portrait - for taking night portraits
- Beach - as the name implies
- Soft snap - as the name implies
Beside these, the camera also comes in 4 separate color modes:
- Natural
- Black and white
- Sepia
- Rich
Cybershot S700 uses USB 2.0 for downloading of images onto computers. There is also an AV out mode that allows video to be play in a compatible TV.
Another thing that I like about this camera is its spot metering capability. This allows you to have a better exposed picture.
Below are some images that I have taken using this digital camera.
Overall, this is a very capable entry-level digital camera. I have one myself and I really am quite happy with its performance. The only thing that I do not really like so much about it is its weight. I find it quite bulky and heavy for a compact camera.
