Photography Technique - Creating the sense of speed and movement
To create a sense of speed and movement in a photo, we must keep the moving subject at the same position (of the camera view) while framing the scene. This means that we need to pan the camera to align it constantly with the moving target/subject. This is not easy to do and does need some practices in order to achieve good results.

In order to give the feeling of fast motion, we need to create the streaking line in the background. This can be achieved by not setting the shutter speed too fast. When capturing vehicles such as a moving car, setting the shutter speed to around 1/60 sec is a fairly good estimation.

Because of the need to react fast, auto-bracketing can come in handy. If your camera features auto-bracketing, it is an added advantage when taking this kind of shots.
