Photography technique - Framing



Frame can be a very effective photography technique. It is often used to enhance the composition of a scene. Framing is a technique of directing the attention to a Subject. Our eyes are naturally drawn to the images framed within an enclosure.

The picture below is a fine example of framing. In this case, the cathedral becomes a strong focus because of the framing of the arc structure.

Leading line can be both straight or curved lines.

To use this technique, we should keep an open eye for opportunities. It does take a bit of imagination and creativity to be able to find a good angle that can create the framing effect.
