You might be intriqued by the word Hospedagem in the title. Well, Hospedagem simply means Web Hosting in Brazilian.
Some websites do not need much bandwidth for web hosting. But if you are maintaining photographs and image intensive websites, bandwidth might be an important factor. This is because photographs are considerably larger files than plain text-based contents.
Additionally, many photography-related and photo portfolio websites like to use Flash animations. That makes websites even more bandwidth-intensive.
Typically, it is not a good idea for the visitor to wait for too long for the site to load. Visitors normally do not have the patience to wait for more than a minute or two.
There are several ways to increase the loading speed.
One way to work around this is to use a fast web host. Homehost is an example of a web hosting company. Typically, shared hosting packages are slower than dedicated servers.
Another way is to compressed the photo JPEG file until it is reasonably sized. I use GIMP to do the jpeg image compression. So far, GIMP does a fairly good job. The compression that I use is typically 85%. Using the default 100% usually produces images that are unnecessarily large.

Well, that all for this article. Hope it is useful.

As a photography enthusiast or professional photographer, you sometimes have to store your photographic images and creations.
In the past where traditional photography was prevalent, the storage format is the photography negative. However, in this digital technological age, that method of storing and reproducing prints is getting a lot less popular.
The preferred method now is digital file storage. Along with harddrives and thumbdrives, CDs and DVDs are very popular means of storage of photographic images now.
If you are a Professional Photographer, you will need to more than just merely storing the files in a CD or DVD. You will also need to make sure that the CD or DVD that will be delivered to the client is presentable and visually professional-looking. In such cases, you will need to ‘decorate’ the CD or DVD. To do the job, you can use Photoshop or GIMP or any 2D images editor. But there is an easier and more efficient method. That is to use a CD label software and DVD cover software.
There are quite a few brands of CD Label Software. RonyaSoft CD DVD Label Maker is one such cd dvd label and cover software. This software can be download for free. This software can take in the BMP and JPEG graphic formats. Below is a screen shot of the software’s interface.

What is also great about this CD DVD Label Software is that it is licensed for both personal and commercial use. Therefore, professional photographers can also use it for their commercial projects. Anyway, regardless of whether one does photography professionally or as a hobby, CD labelling will significantly improve the visual appeal of the storage CD or DVD.

Underwater photography is not for the average photographer. Water exerts its own properties when the photographer is submerged, making shooting more difficult.
If you are into underwater photography, you will need two types of equipments. And these tech toys ain’t cheap too.
1. Underwater lighting equipments.
2. Underwater housing for the camera.
For underwater lighting equipments, Nocturnal Lights is a popular choice.
As for underwater camera housings, there are several models for housing digital compact cameras. For example, WP-DC17 housing is for Canon IXUS 860 digital compact camera. For Fuji FinePix F50fd there is the FXF50 camera housing. The FxF50 housing is shown below.

A high end underwater housing is the aluminum alloy made Subal ND3 for Nikon D3.
When choosing an Underwater housing for the camera, there are several factors and considerations.
Firstly, make sure that the buttons are easy to handle underwater. They should be big and not awkward to use.
Next thing to check is whether internal flash can be used as well, when the camera is within the underwater casing.
Another consideration is whether the memory card of the camera used is of a reasonable storage size. This is because, you can’t reload the camera while in the water.
That’s all for the article. Happy photo shooting in the water.
