Food Photography
Food Photography is a visual representation of food in a most delectable and yummy manner. It is usually a type of close up photography.
Very often a tripod is used to minimize movement. A small F-stop is often used to give a short ranged Depth of Field (DOF). This will diffuse off the surrounding and thus more attention will be given to the food.

In order to make the food look delicious, sometimes certain tricks are used. For example, fresh vegetable may wilt under strong lighting condition for photography. Often, they are rendered undercooked so as to maintain a certain form appeal. Additionally, glycerine are used to fake water. This is because water may evaporate under warm light.
So what you see, may not really be the real thing.
