Weird Cyber-shot occurrence
Lately, my Cyber-shot S700 has been behaving very weirdly. After coming back from an overseas trip, it failed to focus. There seems to be some problem with the sensor.
I checked out the internet and found that there is a Sony service centre in town. I took the camera there. The queue at the service centre was long, but most people came for Sony Vaio laptops repairs. I waited for quite a while before my turn came.
The service counter guy gave the camera an accessment and said that the camera need to be sent for repair, if I am agreeable with the cost. He said that repair and service charges alone will cost S$80 dollars. And that was not inclusive of costs for part replacements. Hmmm… I am not really prepared to fork out that amount of money just to fix a digital compact camera.
I declined and left the service centre. I was quite pissed as I had bought this camera not too long ago. In my anger fit, I gave it a hard knock. Then the weirdest thing happened! The camera can focus again! I must have knocked its senses (sensors) back, literally.
Ha ha … this must be the joke the day
